How to use Rockbox, iRiver H120 and Mac osX?

I have an iRiver H120 that I would like to use Rockbox on. I have downloaded the patch and other software but my Mac computer, a PowerBook G4 with the latest software will not recognize some of the software and will not open the patch. Is there any way to do this on a Mac?

Random guess:  you clicked the Windows link in the manual and not the MacOS link.

Ok, so there is a Mac OS of Rockbox? that would be great, but I never saw one. I will look again.

Well the problem is that my Mac with os X does not recognize the patch .exe and says it is not a movie that can b e opened. I don't see a patch for just the Mac os system.

I'm guessing that you're referring to fwpatcher.exe.  Did you try using the automated installation way (i.e. RButil)?

Ok, I found it but for some reason when I click install it has an error msg.

The message when I try and load the software is: mount point is wrong

when I try and load the bootloader the system freezes and I have to force quit the software to load the bootloader.

Also for selected service under Device I get:

So you have the right device selected, but no mountpoint is set..
please go into the Configuration and set the mountpout to where your device is mounted in the Filesystem. Then it should work.

So how do I do that? Sorry for my ignorance but this is all new to me.

I went to the file menu and did a browse and inserted H100 as the software will not auto detect. It says it downloads and loads to files and that installation was succesful but nothing happens and I don't see it in the files of the H120. ??

The mountpoint is "where" on your system the device is mounted.  I'm not sure of the syntax for OS X.  Hopefully someone who uses that OS can give you more direct instructions.

What does "mounted" mean in terms of the device? I have have downloaded the patch but the Mac osx does not recognize it so I can open it to patch the firmware.

Something I think the others have forgotten to mention is that your iPod, I assume, is formatted HFS+ - a so called "MacPod".
Rockbox only works on iPods formatted FAT32.
This is covered in the "note" at the end of section 2.2 of the manual.
