my iPod won't turn on.
« on: October 05, 2007, 01:58:36 PM »
Hey. I was following the instructions to load the original firmware, and turned the hold switch on after booting. However, my iPod immediately shut off. It now does not respond to any button commands (with hold switch on and off). Also, it does nothing when plugged into usb (again hold switch on and off).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Follow the usual reset procedure.  On most iPods, this means holding the Menu and Select buttons simultaneously until the iPod reboots.

I've already tried that. I've even held both in for over a minute, and still no luck.

Leave it to charge with preferably a wall charger for a good long time, then try again.  If the reset doesn't work either you are doing it wrong or there is a hardware problem.  The reset command is not something rockbox can affect.
