Gigabeat F: Center button change?

My Gigabeat F used to have the center cross button as play/pause/select.  It still selects  in the menus, but in the Now Playing screen, it will go to the previous menu instead of playing/pausing. The 'A' button now functions as the play/pause button.

I searched and couldn't find anything, i'm running the 10/03/2007 update.

Yes, the obvious thing you're missing is "We changed that, and announced it both in the changelog and in the mailing list."

Yeah I had to create a patch for my g/f because she got confused and liked it better the old way, but it just takes a bit of getting used to it and I think its better that way now.

So long as the manual was updated.....

I don't own a Gigabeat, though I am giving some thought to finding one on ebay just to try rockbox on it.  If I ever find a good buy on a good used Gigabeat I'll probably get one.
