How to: ipod video + rockbox + extras under linux
(1/1)
m6arate:
I've put together some commands that will download and prepare a .rockbox folder for your ipod. Also included is an ipodlinux installer, which installs loader2. i hope this helps people with linux easily install rockbox!
GodEater:
Information like this belongs in the wiki, NOT in the forums.
I also note you're recommending using an unsupported build - which really isn't a great idea for a new user.
b3nny:
thank you m6arate im going to try this tonight i appreciate your post very much.

bluebrother:
Oh, and there is no real need of using Loader2 -- the rockbox bootloader can boot IPL.
Besides, for the official builds we now have Rockbox Utility which simplifies installation quite a bit, even if you don't use the Rockbox bootloader.
Llorean:
I've removed your link. The Rockbox Utility is probably easier to use than your instructions, we don't like instructions for unsupported builds in the official forums, and we really don't like people following steps that aren't in the manual and then coming to us for help with some unknown set of steps.
Please, if you want to make it easer to install, help is improve the installation process.
And please, don't use our forums as a means of advertising your blog.
