Hey everyone, I have been using rockbox for sometime now on and off.. and finally decided to update it and such and I thought it would fix my battery problem. But I keep getting only 3hrs max on my ipod... Does anyone know how to fix this, or make it last longer?? All I do is listen to music, very rarely do i use the programs.. but i still want most of them installed.

GodEater:
There have been no breakthroughs with the battery life on ipods later than the 3rd gen.

That being said - 3 hours is pretty sucky. I've never really benchmarked mine - but I think I get around 10 hours from mine.

However, this topic has been covered a lot in the forums, with lots of suggestions for things to turn off / on in the options. So please have a search, it's not worth a whole new thread to go over them all again.

DefineByte:
I believe the pertinent question would be: what kind of battery life do you get with the original firmware?

LambdaCalculus:
Or also: How long have you had your iPod? You may be getting only 3 hours because your battery could be losing its charging capacity, which means you'll have to have the battery replaced.

Which is what seeing how long it lasts in the OF would accomplish.
