Goggles, that screen does show 'Partition style:', but the value is 'Not Applicable', and that is an odd value(in my opinion).  I don't know exactly what windows mean by 'style' though.

Anyways, the screen shot of the first tab, 'General' is one that will give us the partition type.  The tab shows the disk space(with a pie graph) and also tells you the space usage as well as the file system(which would be my only guess at the 'partition type', since when you make a partition, you must give it a file system, and things like NTFS, FAT32 and FAT are file systems that are characteristic of partitions, so i am concluding that the 'partition type' is the 'file system'.  I could very easily be wrong, if so, please kindly correct me).

I don't think any of the tabs in that app will show the partition ids. As I said, I have no idea how to show them under Windows.

They should be something like 0x0b or 0x0c on the first partition and 0x84 on the second.

Yesterday sansapatcher was expanded to also allow 0x06 and 0x0e on the first partition (to work with c200).

Just to clarify, no new release of sansapatcher has been made yet - so unless you compile it yourself from SVN, you won't see those changes.

Is this the right information?
So from the screenshot, are you using windows xp? Do you have admin permissions?

Guys I have the same problem after installing rockbox firmware.

My sansa is no more recoginzed (it was recognized yesterday when i installed rockbox and everything went fine!)

My sansa does not show up in the list of drives at all after installing rockbox. Second I put my sansa in MSC mode before I installed RB and I haven't changed it since then. So my case is

-Yes, I'm ruuning XP
-Yes, I'm the Admin
-Yes, Sansa is in MSC mode

Sadly the player is unrecognized. My player loads fine with rockbox, but I get the black screen of death when I load OF.

Any suggestions?

- Partitioned as FAT, as reported by Windows (Start->Run diskmgmt.msc)

Unless sansapatcher was changed, it only works on FAT32 Sansas.

It works on FAT16 too these days, but the often recommended version 0.2 doesn't...

Right click on my computer, choose management, then disk management then select your sansa and choose format.

Also, in the future if you have questions along the lines of "how do i perform a basic task in Windows ...", try the help in Windows.  Typing "fat32" brings up a very nice page explaining how to do this.  Questions in the rockbox forums should be limited to rockbox rather then windows.
