Ipod 80 gig responds extremely slow.

Hi there. I'm having a problem with the firmware in that everytime i try browsing by 'A-Z', rockbox will show the message 'searching... ' for about 30 seconds before coming up with any search results. Is this a general bug or is there a way to fix this? Also, how do I play the videos which were encoded for the original ipod firmware. I can't seem to locate them on my Ipod.

Try setting the directory cache to ON (and have a browse through the rest of the manual while you are there ;) )

In fact, the forum guidelines require you to check the manual first. It clearly states that you can load the database to RAM and enable dircache to speed up things. In your case (as you are using the database) you should load it to RAM. Check the manual for details.
