Sleep mode for iPod 1G/2G

(1/1)

yapper:
http://www.ipodlinux.org/PP5002 (in the "CPU Controller" section) lists the locations and values for sleep/wake for the PP5002 CPU and COP.

Has anyone tried this? I know it seems too obvious, but I thought I'd ask .....

... and I haven't programmed this century, so I haven't tried it myself

linuxstb:
I assume you're looking for a sleep mode similar to Apple's firmware?

If so, then that's different to just sleeping the CPU/COP, which Rockbox already does.  A sleep mode involves clocking the CPU to a very slow frequency, and powering down all the other parts of the hardware.

IIUC, the developer working on the PP5002 ipods has successfully tested such a sleep mode, but has not yet integrated it into Rockbox.

yapper:
Your assumption was correct ... thanks for the news that a solution is being worked on.
