Additional Noise when using Rockbox
« on: September 28, 2007, 04:23:59 PM »
When i run Rockbox on my 5.5G iPod 80GB i recently discovered that i get a strange ticking noise (on the right channel only).

When i'm not accesing the controls it's a regular "tick-tick-tick".
But when i change the volume in the wps-screen, i can literaly hear me changing it, since the noise changes accordingly to me touching the wheel. (it gets "faster" when i'm moving faster over the wheel)

I have to say that i didn't discoverd it until now, because i have to set the iPod way over my usual volume level to be able to hear it, but it's there nevertheless. (I can hear it best when using my portable headphone amp and turn it all the way up)

I'm not using any alterations to the sound (EQ, hardware EQ, Replaygain, Crossfeed, a.s.o....) and it's not there with the original Apple OS.

Since the noise changes when accesing the controls, has it something to do with the LCD perhaps?

This appears to be a known bug
