rockbox mimiking Sansa's GUI... possible?

as a user of the sansa e260 and Ipod i would say with no argument that Sansa has one of the coolest GUIs.
i was wondering if it was at all possibly to modify the rockbox GUI to mimick the Sansas. but instead of vids, music, settings, pics, radio, and rec there would also be the rest of the goodies that rockbox includes in the main GUI.

Well, exactly speaking: you could of course program a GUI that is similar to the one the sansa has. But currently there is absolutely no code for that and you probably would need to rework the complete menu code. Plus, most devs don't like those "fancy" GUIs so nobody is really interested in doing such a thing. So it's possible, but it's not easily possible. As I assume you're looking for an easy way the answer is no ;)

an easy way was an option but not my only option. if i have to get my hands dirty i will but i know virtually nothing about programming these things. so i guess i'll rest here.

you prove a good point however that the GUI isnt really useful for Devs, but im just a user so i didnt think of that. sry

It isn't so much that it isn't useful for devs, it is just that the devs we have favour functional over pretty.  If it can be functional and pretty, great!

Also, Rockbox runs on many many more players than the Sansa, and we want Rockbox to look the same across all targets (within limits).  Thus we aren't going to pick say the Sansa interface and apply it to all targets, we are going to have ourr interface on all targets.  If someone wants to improve that interface great, but have a look at all the previous discussions on this first to see why that won't necessarily be easy!
