ehh, what other program writes last.fm logs on a portable device?

I know you want a CLI program - but check out QTscrobbler, its protocol 1.2 support is very nice.  Last I heard, IIRC, they were working on a CLI version.

There is a QTScrobbler CLI version in SVN (https://qtscrob.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/qtscrob) - a new release is imminent (maybe even this weekend).
