this is just a small question,

will the normal ipod firmware still recognize the Ipod_Control folder if you make it unhidden, or will it not see it and make a new that is hidden???

The Apple firmware will recognise the iPod_Control folder as long as it remains called that. It doesn't matter whether it's set to hidden or not.
