questions about possible click wheel problem - iPod Photo..

Hello, I'm having the strangest problems since installing Rockbox on the used iPod 4G I just received.
What happens is when I boot up to the original firmware the works as it's supposed to, but if I reboot into Rockbox, it works ok for awhile but after some point in time (it seems random) when I scroll down a list, when I let go, Rockbox wants to scroll up one line when I'm done. Same goes for volume.. If I scroll the volume up, as soon as I let go, it goes back a decibel or two..
This doesn't happen when using the iPod's original firmware! Also, when I hold down the Play/Pause to shutdown Rockbox, it goes back to reboot Rockbox right after it shuts down, and the only way to get it to shut down is to boot into the OF and then shut it down from there.
Is this a known issue, or is Rockbox that much more sensitive to wheel spins and that possibly my click wheel is going bad? If it's a known issue, is there some sort of patch? Thanks!
WELL, ok, since no one has any idea if it's a hardware problem, maybe I can ask this simple question:
Is it easy to reassemble an iPod 4G? I've looked online and saw guides on taking them apart, but is it really as easy as it looks? If so, I might just try to see if I can maybe reposition the wheel so that it doesn't stick anymore.
