Help!!-Can't Fast-Fwd/ Fast-Rew or Bookmark .WMA files on Sansa E-280

(1/1)

ggkrich:
RockBox otherwise works well in all respects....great job developers !!!
1. MP3 files CAN BE F-Fwd/F-Rew and Bookmarked normally in all manners provided by RB OS.
2. WMA (Non-DRM) files CAN'T BE either FFwd, FRew or BOOKMARKED.
    A. FF/FR: The WPS will indicate a response on the progress bar after pressing the FFwd or FRew, but doesn't "stick", rather as soon as the button is released, the prog bar indicater drops back to the position when the FF/FR button was first pushed plus whatever time interval passed while the button was depressed, as though it had continued to play during the FF/FR command.
    B. BOOKMARKING: After PAUSING and then a LONG PAUSE button depression, no "Bookmark Created" dialog is displayed, and the WPS reverts back to the Database File Screen and highlights the WMA file that was currently playing.
3. Other Info:
   A. Brand new E-280 (China); No mods to RB other than a few WPS's and font package installed.
   B. RB ver. r14801 [I tried the current build (r14835) but the the audio was far poorer]
   C. ID3 tags were generated/modified by me using Mp3tag software.

NOTE:  I listen mostly to Audio Books with track lengths of one hour+; Bookmarking and/or FF-FR is essential. Each time I turn on the player, I'm back at the beginning of a LONG track! My book sources are mostly in WMA format and converting them to Mp3 is not practical.

Regards, and thanks for the HELP!

ColdSphinx:
Seeking isn't yet implemented for WMA files.
Search the forum for "wma seek" and you can read it in a lot of posts.

Please note that bookmarking in Rockbox only works with file played and playlist created from the file browser at this point.
