my computer cant recconise it

i have windows xp and a sansa e 270 and i just got rockbox on it. now i have gotten music to work but i cant find any of my pictures or videos that i had on previously. i decided to try to go back to what was default on the sansa (before i had rockbox) and so the manuel said to start it and hold the left button. so i did that and the opening startup code froze and changed colour ending in a dark red (everytime makes me think of blood) but i found if i hold the power button long enough it turn off and can start in rockbox normally. i plugged it into my computer and my computer dosent recconise it anymore yet the rockbox says it's chargeing (it shows a usb icon i hope that means it's chargeing) so what can, should i do to try and get it back to what i had or so my computer can recconise it. i used the most reccent rockbox if that means anything.

There is no USB support in Rockbox yet, so all it does is charge.  As for the OF not loading, something in SVN broke the bootloader, so quite a few users are having trouble going to the OF.  Using v0.2 of sansapatcher should work though: http://download.rockbox.org/bootloader/sandisk-sansa/e200/v0.2/ (select directory for your computer, then sansapatcher[.exe|.dmg]

i got that file but how would i make it find my sansa beacuse it still cant find it and sofar changeing to OF isnt working

Hey Brother, I have the same problem on my Sansa e260, identical the yours. I'm researching on web for a solution. If I find anything I'll post here the solution. Please, if you find something, post here too.
So let's wait for help of somebody from here...

As I promisse, I will Explain how to take back the originsl Firmware working.
First of all you have to boot into recovery mode by turning on the device with the lock switch on, and holding record.
Then put the BL.rom file for your model on the device: http://daniel.haxx.se/sansa/mi4.html
I used this version of the Rom file: 1.02.15a.mi4 , and the original system was perfectly restored.
Starting again from this point you are able to try to reinstall the rockbox again...

I recently ran into this problem, and tried what was mentioned in the thread here, but it failed to work because the download link for the v0.2 of sansapatcher was no longer valid, the file had been moved/removed.

ya i had to look around for it but it's just been moved around so look at some of the forums and 1 of them have it

You have to put back your original firmware in recovery mode. You can use either sasapatcher ver 0.2 or reverse boot loader mentioned in that page (to load your sansa firmware by default). I have tried and both of them works.
