Problems install to C240?

(1/1)

John:
I have just rockboxed my new Sansa C240  with a machine running Ubuntu 7.04 but:
when I boot the Sansa in Rockbox and connect it to the desktop Ubuntu's file browser does not detect it.
When I boot the Sansa in Sandisk operating system Ubuntu's file browser detects it and I am able to load music onto it using a cut and paste operation.
Is there a more elegant way?
I was expecting to see a program like iTunes installed on the Ubuntu desktop. Did I miss something in the installation?
gtkpod and Rhythmbox do detect the DMP (and Rhythmbox does not write to DMP's).

The e200 series mamual suggests I should be able to get the FM radio to work but it seems to have vanished in Rockbox. Is it there?
Regards,
John

krazykit:
USB support is not yet implemented.  Boot into the original firmware to transfer via USB.  To transfer music, simply drag and drop it to the player.

Keep in mind that the c200 port is very new and many of the problems are still being worked out.

This is normal for now - the USB stack for Rockbox isn't finished yet.

Yes, the radio works on the e200 series, but IIRC there's a problem initializing the radio on the c200, so the radio isn't enabled yet.  As krazykit said, the c200 port is still new, and some features haven't been enabled yet.

John:
Thank you both for your help
