Please help -1 error

Will someone please help me I didn't follow directions and didn't unzip rockbox files to my ipod and then ran the ipodpatcher and on my ipod I got the -1 error and I have tried putting my ipod in disk mode and I can get it to go in disk mode but no madder what I do my I will still not show up on my computer please help

Try killing ipodservice before you attach the iPod.

by killing ipodservice you mean closeing itunes right

No, the process.  Open Task Manager and end the process there.

Ok, I closed the process ipodservice and then reset my ipod and went into disk mode then reconnected to my computer but it still is not showing up

Try going into Disk Management and see if you can manually assign a drive letter to it.  Restarting your computer with the iPod attached may also be worth trying.

Also, try different cables/ports if available.

yeah i did...does ipodpatcher leave ipod firmwre on ipod so could I still boot that up

The iPod firmware should boot if you reset and immediately flick the Hold switch on.  Does your computer properly recognize other UMS devices?

The manual clearly says that you can dual-boot. What's the non-understandable thing about this?
