Well, I'm pretty sure that post with the quote was intended as humor rather than a serious statement.
I thought this guy would have given it away:

But in the end, it doesn't matter whether it's legal or not in any given country: The forum rules state not to link to ROM sites, as from our opinion, not legal but personal, it is wrong to distribute a material copyrighted by someone else without their explicit permission. Whether illegal or not, those are the rules here, plain and simple.
So does this go the other way too? Say, I wanted to remove some evil DRM, and someone posted a link to a handy utility to do just that, and everyone agreed that evil DRM is evil...

How is that the other way?  That is still a violation of copyright and not allowed here.

Nope. While DRM is evil, it is within the right of the copyright holder to determine the terms under which their property may be distributed. So it's still a question of "Respecting Copyrights."

The GPL doesn't work if people don't respect copyrights, so we depend on it just as much as them.

I mean how you said it doesn't matter if it's legal in some countries, in your opinion it's wrong.  By "the other way", I mean if something is illegal in some countries, but in your opinion, it's right.

EDIT:

But I guess Llorean's last post means you guys agree with DRM, but think it's just not a nice thing to do.

No, my post means we respect copyright. You've chosen to intentionally misinterpret that as supporting DRM.

If people could ignore the license of what they receive, people could just as easily ignore the GPL. In the strictest sense, a license is "Opt-in DRM". You can technically choose to ignore it, but you opt in generally because it's the right thing to do. Meanwhile, DRM as you describe it is a technical measure enforcing a license, rather than voluntary measures for the same means.

DRM in and of itself restricts a user, but you AGREE to it by downloading the protected content. If you disagree with DRM, don't download it, don't complain about it here, just don't use it.

I've never purchased a DRM protected song, and think it's very unlikely I never will. Because the proper solution to the problem isn't "Disrespect copyright" it's "Make it not be profitable by not paying them for it."

I think we've definitely left the ballpark of "Plugins/Viewers"...

True, but clarifying forum guidelines is rather essential, and I've found splitting a thread like this before the discussion is clarified can actually cause one or more observers to lose it, so I'm waiting 'till it's settled before splitting and renaming.

I had about a paragraph for every one of your sentences, but I realised it was all side-issues and cruft, so:

Okay.
