C240 - bad install

(1/1)

Bbs:
OK, i f****d up. Now i got the info that install is incomplete as i didn't create .rockbox folder. Instead i put all the firmware files on root of player and renamed rockbox.mi4 to firmware.mi4 so it flashed. Now i cant connect via usb to player. Is there any way to restore usb connection? Like dual boot (tried pressing left but didnt work) or using e200tool - but then, what dump and where i can get it from? I can get to DIAG mode without problems but that dont give me straight usb support. What should i do now?

lowlight:
Enter recovery mode and restore the original firmware. Start with c200 off, switch hold on, press and hold rec, then plug in usb. A 16 MB partition should pop up. Copy an original firmware.mi4 there, then unmount/disconnect. You can get the orig firmware from zefie's site:
http://files.zefie.com/PMP/sansa/c200/

To install Rockbox, follow these instructions:

Thanks, it worked very well. Didn't know about this recovery mode.

loupgaroublond:
I am having trouble getting this recovery mode to work.  I currently have a bricked c240 that I can't get started again.

I am using Linux, and when I start up the device this way, no window (in Gnome) popups, nor do I see any new devices in /dev/

Am I missing something to this trick?
