60gb bad checksum
« on: September 20, 2007, 09:45:25 PM »
My iPod Video, 5th gen gives me a "bad checksum" error when I try to start it (with Rockbox).

It says...
Loading Rockbox...
Length: 81A80
Checksum: 344E5D2
Model name: ipvd
Loading rockbox.ipod
Sum: 344E5D0
Error!
Can't load rockbox.ipox:
Bad checksum

How can I fix this?

Well, it could be a corrupted download.  Have you tried re-downloading the current build?

I think " Model Name : ipvd " implies he at least downloaded the right one.

Oh, missed that. Though I always thought this tells only the name of the model (i.e. bootloader), not of the build.

It is a 60gb model, and I installed the 60/80 one, so I can't figure out what's wrong. I do have the most up-to-date version of iTunes and the Apple Firmware for it, so might that he affecting it?

Solved! I thought it was a 60gb video. It's not. It's a 4th gen 60gb color/photo.
