trouble installing rockbox bootloader on new 80gb ipod classic

jafeyedoc:
no problem loading unzipped files to new folder, rockbox, at ipod root
but running ipodpatcher.exe opens up cmd box which reports:

scanning disk drives...
no ipods found, aborting
please connect your ipod and ensure it is in disk mode
etc.

definitely in disk mode since explorer window shows ipod directory just fine
btw I am logged in as administrator

any help much appreciated  - also, if I get to next step which folder gets unzipped font files

That'd be because the iPod Classic is not supported.

ah ha!  I am confused about different gens and this new name - kinda like coke classic!
