1st gen ipod 4gb nano video problems

my ipod will play video but it wont play the whole thing and it isn't clear, its kinda pixely or spotty i guess you would call it.  can anybody help?

maybe you're using a 'bad' converter that skips some bites. Did you check if you encoded your movie correctly?
