Ipod Mini 4gb, usb crashes device
(1/1)
phillis:
Hello all,
I have just obtained a mini 4gb second generation. I loaded the bootloader/rockbox as stated in instruction for my specific model, but whenever I connect the device in USB without booting in disk mode, the device itself crashes. I cannot do the hold on/of, menu select to reboot it. I have to manually open it and unplug the battery. What could be causing this?
Thanks

The reset sequence is a hardware function provided by apple. Thus, this function will work regardless of Rockbox running or not. Please be aware that you might need to hold Menu + Select for quite some time (which even varies on the same Ipod). Something like up to 30 seconds got already reported.
If the hardware reset doesn't work you have a hardware issue.

I'm pretty sure there is no Ipod mini 2GB around. Are you referring to an Ipod nano 2G (second generation)? Those are not supported as the frontpage clearly states.
And please don't hijack threads -- your question has nothing to do with the original thread.
