Winff and Mpeg conversion.
« on: September 18, 2007, 09:06:50 PM »
I can't seem to get Winff to produce normal videos.  I have the presets installed and I select Sansa 4:3 in the settings. It transcodes it but when I try to play it on WMP or rockbox it is basically very few frames all scrambled up with A LOT of green.

It's done this on 3 different videos so far, all different codecs.

Windows Media Player doesn't play mpeg-2 video well. I'd suggest using a better program to verify your videos. As it is, WinFF is not made nor supported by us, so since the videos you're getting seem to be bad, rather than Rockbox playing them improperly, you might want to seek help with WinFF specifically.

Thanks, I also tried using Mediacoder but it never seems to listen to the presets and outputs it with no video.  I guess I can try using the command line encoders.

I'd suggest VLC as an ideal player to test your videos (it'll encode too).
