VERY slow AGC with adjustable low threshhold possible?
bugg100:
A very slow (user adj. setting prefered) AGC that allowed (user adj. ?) threshold could be cool. If the functionality of current Safety clip AGC could also be present at the same time, that is.
It would be useful to set a level and set a threshold target. If the input went below the threshold for a set period of time (30 seconds, user adj.?), the AGC could be used to raise input by .5 dB and again 30 seconds later, if only still below limit. The Safety Clip aspect for clipping (-3dB?) should still be in effect also!
Are these things possible? Not to mention, any interest for them?
Thanks for your time!

As I also replied on taperssection, the strong point of AGC is it only lowers gain. If you start upping it again, levels become very complex and hard to adjust in postprocessing.
Multiplex:
Sorry to hijack, but you mention post processing...
I don't use rockbox for recording but have an interest in AGC type operation and was wondering if the REP writes a log file of changes so that it would be possible to go back to the recorded (WAV only I suppose) file and adjust everything to match the lowest gain applied in the recording.
Davide-NYC:
Oooh...
A log file of gain changes is a great idea!
Put in a feature request on flyspray!
Multiplex:
Yeah, that's the easy bit (and I'm surprised it's not already done) it's the post processing that is interesting...
