Upload takes 2 long

I try uploading a new theme to my ipod but it takes too long to get it in there right now its been 2 hrs and it still uploading a theme i just downloaded. Its my first time using rockbox, so is there anything wrong with it or my ipod? i extracted to the right place and everything.

What do you mean by "uploading" ?

All you do with a theme is unzip them to your ipod. That's it.

You know when it uploads to ur ipod and ur ipod says "do not disconnect"

All you need to do is "eject" your ipod in that case.

Look for the little icon in the system tray.

Does the theme load tho?

Give you said you've had it in this state for two hours, *and* that you've extracted it to the right place - I would imagine it's more than done by now.

A theme should take less than a minute to extract - most of them less than 10 seconds.

So just eject your ipod, boot it into rockbox, and load it up and see.

K here its what i did I downloaded Aurora Black theme and then i extracted to .rockbox that only took a few seconds but uploading from there to ipod is what takes so long i just took it off right now and it still has the same old themes.

How do you know it takes so long ?

Cause i keep looking @ my ipod and it keeps saying do not disconnect

That doesn't mean it hasn't finished copying, it just means your computer has not told the ipod it's finished with it. And your computer won't tell it that till YOU do the "Safely Remove Hardware" thing. So it'll stay like that forever if you leave it - it doesn't matter if you're copying things to it or not.

Btw..do i have to be in rockbox mode or normal ipod setting to upload settings? And i just tried safety remove device twice and it wont load it.

Since rockbox has no USB currently, then you have to be in either "normal" ipod mode as you put it, or in Emergency Disk mode, which is what Rockbox should boot into automatically when you plug in the USB cable.

Try closing your file browser window down before doing the "Safely remove".

Should i delete the theme i tried uploading and download a new one and try it?
