Howdy. I just ran into Rockbox tonight, gave it a try on my g4 ipod. I must say it added some great features. My only problem is that the ipod will not work on my bose docking system. I know people do not like the bose system, but I do.  So its back to the old plan jane ipod. Great job on this folks, you have got something great here.

That's up to you.  But I hope you know that the bootloader allows you to dual-boot Rockbox and the Apple firmware.  There's no need to sacrifice Rockbox just because you want to use some unsupported accessories every once in a while (or regularly, even).

I did not realize it could dual boot. I will look into that tomorrow night, getting late for me now, and reading is not on my mind. Thanks for the fast reply.
