IRiver H320 Time questions
(1/1)

HELP!
I need to be able to check the time on my IRiver H320 down to the nearest second using the Rockbox firmware. Is there a way to set and/or check the time to the nearest second? I have to find out the amount of time this device will "drift" over long periods. Electronic devices with a time mechanism tend to speed up or slow down the time based on activity!
Issue #2, I have the mp3 player hooked up to a modified mircrophone. As each wav file is recorded, a single date and time is "stamped" to that file and can be accessed through the .wav file properties. I was wondering if anyone knew EXACTLY when that time is being "stamped" onto a particular .wav file. Is it when the file is first created or is it when the file is finished? For example, if I make a 15 second recording via my mic, is the time assigned to that .wav file at the beginning or the end of that 15 seconds?
I know these are random questions but the time drift of this device and the time in which the file is created is absolutely critical in what I am using this for!!!!
Thanks for your time!!

Both of these can be measured by you as easily as they can be measured by another person.
For #1: Take an H320, syncronize it with your watch (or better yet, a PC that's synced over the internet), in a certain amount of time (the period over which you wish to know the drift) compare the drift.
For #2: Start a file at say 1:00, record for 5 minutes, and stop. Check the time on the file. If it's nearer 1:00 or 1:05 you know your answer.
