scrolling issues on iPod

My 60GB video has been going a bit nuts lately. When I boot it up its ok but it starts scrolling all over the place. It scrolls by itself so much I cant choose the song I want. When I just play whatever song its on at that second it plays fine. Is this a common problem? Do I have a busted scroll wheel? Is it a firmware problem? I have done the hold on/off force boot fix to no avail. Thanks

Sounds quite like it :(

Does it do the same in the Apple firmware?

I have not tried. Ever since I started using rockbox over a year ago I have not even bothered to put the ipod firmware back on it because I like rockbox so much. Where can I get the Ipod original firmware? I dont have the hard drive space to transfer all my complete full 60GB of music to and I don't have everything backed up. thanks

You actually don't have to put it back on, as the Apple firmware is still there.  The Manual explains how to boot into the Apple firmware.

I think I messed it up even more... ???

It wouldn't even let me load a .ipod file..and stopped moving around at all and just froze. I then took all my songs off it and formatted the ipod. I think thats where I messed up cause now its just stuck at the little apple logo when it boots and wont force reboot (select + menu button). When I toggle on the hold button it gives me the rockbox error screen. I figured when I deleted the rockbox stuff it would just make the regular firmware default again. It is stuck at the apple logo and my computer wont recognize it when I plug it into the USB..and it wont move at all. I let it run out of batteries last night hoping it would be recognized by my computer when I plugged it back in...nope. Am screwed? thanks
