Rockbox Ports are now being developed for various digital audio players!
I have left it unplugged for 24 hours and plugged it in and still nothing. If the battery had died wouldn't it work while it is plugged in? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Did you try leaving it plugged in for a longer time? It may be in a deeply discharged state where it can't wake up immediately.

Are you talking about something other than flipping the hold toggle and holding menu and select to reset the ipod?
So it actually rebooted? If the Ipod shows the empty battery symbol even after reset the battery is really flat. And if you charged it for quite a while before it looks like your battery is broken.I guess you already ensured that when charging the battery the usb port you used was working, or better used a wall charger?
Because, I've read on this forum that theres a battery glitch and it may need to be plugged into a wall charger for up to 24 hours. So rather than waiting, I take 20 seconds to disconnect and reconnect the battery.
