AquaStreak:
You could have done what I call "resetting the battery". Rather than waiting a day or so, I simply open up my player, disconnect the battery connector, and reconnect it. Tada!

Febs:
Except that won't work if the battery is dead and needs replacement.  But why bother to open your player rather than simply using the reset key combination?

AquaStreak:
Because, I've read on this forum that theres a battery glitch and it may need to be plugged into a wall charger for up to 24 hours. So rather than waiting, I take 20 seconds to disconnect and reconnect the battery.

I fix iPods, so I know what I'm doing hardware-wise.

Febs:
It may need to be charged--but often it does not.  In all of the times that I have ever experienced this battery glitch, all that was needed was a simple reset.
