Slant for E200

I got my new E280 today so I though I would port some of my themes for my use. First on my list was Slant:

http://chrisbanes.blogspot.com/2007/12/slant-for-sansa-e200.html

It requires NO patches, just a standard current build.

It is licensed under:

Just thought i'd post an update of this. I've had this version for a while, just haven't uploaded it yet :P

It's ever so nearly finished, I just need to finish the bottom volume and battery bar. Just not sure what to do there yet though lol.

Please comment if you like it.  ;D

I like it.  For my personal use I've made the following changes:

changed order to

Artist
Album
Track Title

-moved the track number before the track title like this: "1 - Track Title"
-Since I added the track number before the track title above, I've replaced the track number display "Track 5" to playlist info like this "Track 30 of 1200."  The first digit being the current position in the playlist and the last being the total tracks in the playlist.
made all of the lines that might need to scroll, scroll

Just my preferences.

Also, possibly a smaller progress bar and bigger album art.

Good job!

Update! :D

Finally finished it now.

> Album Art is now 85x85, just about the right size I think.
> If there is no album art, then the text is centered.
> Volume and battery icons are NOT animated, I thought it was a waste of time as their so small.

:( i looked at the CC license and i feel bad, I was pretty confident that this theme would be a great contender for the DefaultWPS contest, and it would be nice if you could take that restriction off and submit it ;)
Just giving my two cents, and i love your theme :)

Well, the new default theme is Cabbie 2.0 (atleast upto this point), but I admit, this theme is indeed very nice and I wouldn't have minded if it was the default. I ported it to the nano a while back...  ;)

Did you pay attention to the license?
"No Derivative Works."

I have removed the entries (slant and slantAA) from the wiki, but someone with more power than I needs to remove the attached files.

soap: I am honestly sorry about this. I pmed senab about this and we'll see what he says...

Quick question, though, did you archive the description and everything else for the theme in case senab permits it to be put on the wiki?

EDIT: I managed to get a copy of the description text for both... We'll have to see about the actual themes...

It's a wiki, all changes are tracked, all can be reverted.
You have at least one other theme on there which appears to violate the original artist's license.
Remember - if they do not explicitly give you the rights - you have none.

Well, that's just great. I pmed Dan Manners about his theme that I ported, but I can't manage to get Sven Schmidt's email or forum profile to send him a pm. I'm going to send PHK a message about this as well. I asked MrMEC express permission to port his Clix theme for the original Apple firmware and that's not a problem.

I am requesting something, though, can you please not have the files deleted as I need to take a backup of them and I can't do it right now...

EDIT: Dan Manners said the following about all of his themes in a pm:

Go for it. Any issues please post this. I'm alright with it.

Actually, while you're at it if you don't mind, please mention that I said that it's fine for any of the themes I did.

-Dan

This is why there needs to be explicit license given by the creator at time of creation.
