Music problems.
« on: September 11, 2007, 08:55:52 PM »
Hey, I'm new here as you can see by my post count (this is my first). Anyways, I had just recently put RockBox onto my iPod Video 5.5g (I love it), but I'm kinda having trounle with my music. I hook my iPod up to my PC, and I add some songs through iTunes. I look through my iPod and can't find them! I load the original  firmware and I can find them. What's the deal? Any help would be awesome! Thanks!

rockbox cannot see your songs through the itunes database but you can use the rockbox database to view your songs you added through itunes i believe. in the main menu click database and it should say database not ready....initialize now?
SELECT=yes
Any Other=no

also please read this
http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/IpodFAQ#Can_I_use_my_iTunes_Database and read the very top part of this page where its at starting with the question Can I use my iTunes Database which will be on the top part of your screen"

Is there anyway I can "update" RockBox to show that I have added new songs?

Edit: Okay... I just got the songs that I added to show but... they are the only songs visible... any clues how to resore the rest of my songs?

The update now option is good for this.  Also, you can turn auto update on.  I suggest you read the manual for these and other answers.
