battery in rockbox
mickmos:
i have noticed that you can change the batter size in rockbox. Can someone please tell me what this setting should be set to if im using an ipod video. i seem to have noticed that my battery is running out faster since i have installed rockbox on my ipod. Is this common or just my imagination?
Thanks

Rock box drains your ipod faster than the apple os firmware. don't worry your ipods battery is not damaged. you can see your battery's max imput on the lower back side of your ipod it should be something like 5.30v- 1 amp max.
Note: you can switch back to your original firmware when you boot up your ipod/ turn it on /or after a restart just quickly switch the hold key on before the apple lights up. then wait. the original os should boot up.
to restart hold menu and select for five seconds.
to shutdown hold play for 5 seconds

It doesn't matter what you set it to on the ipod video - it makes no difference to anything, and isn't used. So don't worry about it.
Buschel:
The battery capacity setting is only used for the estimated runtime of your player. Changing this setting will not effect battery lifetime. The default settings are set correctly for both 5G and 5.5G iPODs.
