ipod nano issues
« on: September 10, 2007, 05:45:52 PM »
i have rockbox on my ipod nano (1.3.1)
and i've put it in disk mode
and i want to add some things
but as soon as i connect it it goes to the "ok to disconnect" screen
and i cant get into it
and ipw doesnt recognize it at that stage

ive also just now noticed it does this even if its not in diskmodes

This is not a Rockbox issue -- perhaps your cable is broken? Try using a different cable, computer / usb port.

This doesn't necessarily rule out the cable completely -- try you unit with a different cable. Another option might be issues with the used USB port / an attached USB hub. If you have a hub between player and PC remove it and connect the Ipod directly.

Use an older build, one that's about 2 months old will be more stable.

sersoft, once the USB connection is detected the player boots into Disk Mode.  There's no Rockbox code running at this point.  How would an older build be any more stable?

since you used your friends ipod then shouldnt he have a cable as well? if your pretty sure its the cable or just curious you can get a cable from ebay for  5 bucks including shipping, or try a different usb port or computer
