how do i add video to nano?

i just got a 1st gen 4gb ipod nano and installed rb. now how do i put video onto the nano?   i tried itunes and that wont work.    sorry if i seem dumb im not a tech at all.   thanx

You can add video anyway you wish (that will simply move the file to the device).  However, you ahve to format the file so that it will work.  See http://www.rockbox.org/wiki/PluginMpegplayer for more details

i must be stupid .  i just cant figure this out.   i just don't get how to convert the files.

if i download a movie that is mpeg can i use that?

if you read this very slowly without wanting videos NOW. then you should be able to do it. it even tells you how you can do a drag and drop on a file and it will convert it for you.  http://www.rockbox.org/wiki/PluginMpegplayer <--- just read this. DONT RUSH and you should be able to figure it out.  you can  download this http://download.rockbox.org/mpeg/elephantsdream-q6-176x128-310kbps.mpg and it will play on your nano although ive read that people are having problems with lag on there nanos.

ok.   i got that video to play but i am still not getting how to convert files.   i just dont understand the software. but thanks for the help with playing the vid

Which of the programs did you try and what goes wrong? If the wiki is unclear we can try to improve it.
