I have a gigabeat F40 but it's a little big and heavy to carry around in the pocket. I was thinking about getting a smaller lighter player. Buy.com has the Sansa e250 refurb for $49.49. You think it's worth getting?

Absolutely!  I would so much rather be out on a walk with my e250 than with my Gigabeat.  (I'd also feel more than a little better about dropping the Sansa on the pavement than the Gigabeat...)

If you are in the United States you can get a e280R @ Best Buy for $130.

After reading this story about Sandisk coming out with the new Sansa View it's kind of hard for me to settle for the old e200 series now. Sandisk will probably have the first sub $200 16GB flash DAP at a MSRP of $199.99.

Well, remember that there's no port of Rockbox to the Sansa View. Unless you want to buy one and crack it open to see what's inside, and maybe help document it... :)

Yeah, I don't expect to have Rockbox on it. But, for a non apple 16GB flash DAP as pretty and cheap as this, I will settle for the OF and "LAME" mp3s.

Well, it seems like this topic no longer has anything to do with Rockbox then.   ::)

Very true. A mod can delete it if they want to.
