I am so stupid! I don't know how i did this wrong but i need major help

alright so i totally fudged up the install of rockbox. I dont know how on earth I was so stupid but tonight I guess I just skipped over the part where you ahve to drag rockbox into your root directory, and I installed the bootloader, and then ejected the ipod. Know it just says Rockbox boot loader, a few things then, loading linux... error. File not found. I AM SO WORRED RIGHT NOW, and really freaking out. Please don't call me an idiot because I know what I have done was terrably dumb, but is there any way out of what I have done. I tried resettings tons of times, and nothing happens when I plug it into the computer. It just stays at the black screen, and I can't turn it off. : ( God what did I do  :'(

What exactly does it say? Just turning it on should never cause it to say "Loading Linux" unless you're holding down buttons...

Hold MENU and SELECT to reboot the iPod.  When you start the iPod up, do not hold PLAY/PAUSE.

Chronon:
You should also boot it into Disk Mode and unzip the firmware into the root of your player if you have still not done so.
