Attempting Reverse Boot
« on: September 08, 2007, 07:16:27 PM »
Im going to replace the OF.mi4 with rockbox.mi4, and rename it to OF.mi4, so that when I press <<, it boots rockbox instead. So then the default firmware is rhapsody.

Was there a question in there?

This isn't a blog...

Perhaps you shouldn't just guess then without having the first idea what you are doing.

Of course it breaks your player - you're telling it to boot Rockbox if no buttons are pressed, and to boot the OF.mi4 (Rockbox) if the |<< button is pressed.  To get a reverse bootloader like the one by digerati1338 (which may not work on the e200R) you need to modify the source code.

Im trying to say that it could boot rhapsody natively, and optionally boot rockbox by pressing <<. So it always boots rhapsody, unless if << is pressed.

That could be done with the ReverseBL, if it was encrypted to work on the Rhapsody series.

Cool, why don't you encryt it?

Because I don't need it.

Download mi4code (http://daniel.haxx.se/sansa/mi4code.html) and do:
mi4code decrypt [firmware file] firmware.bin
mi4code encrypt firmware.bin complete.mi4 rhapsody
