Booting Firmware In Rockbox
«

I found that you can boot firmware within rockbox. I booted the rockbox firmware in rockbox, and it worked, booted rhapsody firmware, and the screen went crazy.
How can I boot rhapsody on my e200r?
EDIT: How can I boot rhapsody in rockbox?

I don't believe that ROLO works that way presently.

Rockbox Loader = RoLo or ROLO
It's supposed to launch the Rockbox firmware if you
play
it. It's mentioned in the manual and there's an admittedly terse wiki page for it. Also, there are plenty of pages mentioning this term in the forums.
I am not as familiar with the Sansa port (less so with the Rhapsody series). But I would hazard a guess that ROLO does not currently provide the ability to launch the native firmware on these players.

That's the case on all PortalPlayer players, I believe. RoLo is semi-functional, often reasonably loading Rockbox, but unexpected to do anything else.

No, it works fine on other players. Nobody with a PortalPlayer based player has solved the problems for using it on them though.

What's the status on the USB support then?

You already asked this in the USB support topic that you created. Please don't cross post the same thing in multiple forums.

I found something out with ROLO, when loading the original firmware, the screen changes pattern. Does that mean that it's doing something? Booting original firmware with bad visual?

The ROLO is (currently) meant to boot Rockbox, not anything else. I can't think of anything to compare it to at the moment, but it isn't designed to boot the OF. To boot the OF, move the mi4 file to the SYSTEM directory, and rename it to OF.mi4. Reboot your Sansa, and hold |<< while booting.

Actually, RoLo should eventually boot the OF. But it doesn't work now, as I stated clearly, and there's no point in trying unless you're an experienced programmer in the right areas, because it'd require fairly advanced technical knowledge to discover what it needs to do.
