Changing themes for iRiver h10 20GB and downloading patches for them...
« on: September 08, 2007, 04:29:09 PM »
Well, I downloaded the zenpod or whatever it's called, and I go to browse themes, choose one and it just changes the backdrop, thats all.

I even go to my .rockbox file and go into themes and click on the .cfg and it still doesn't change it.
And the .wps files don't work either, the only ones that seem to work are the themes that are default, which are kinda crappy. ;)

I downloaded the zenpod, zipped it straight to E: or whatever, and it's all in the right places, but it only changes the backdrop and not the music playback screen, it stays normal.

Am I doing something wrong?
Any help would be appreciated.

Which one did you download?  Some versions of ZenPod appear to require custom builds, so they won't work with the official build.

As the description for that theme states, a custom build is required:  http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/WpsIaudioX5#zenpodV5

You either need to install the required build or choose a theme that does not require a custom build.

Note that we do not provide support for custom builds, so I recommend finding a theme that uses the official builds.  If you do choose a custom build, direct all questions regarding that build to the thread for that build in the "Unsupported Build" forum.

Oh, ok I didn't know you had to download a seperate build for it.

Thanx! :D

Wait I have another question lol, do I just download the .patch file and send it to .rockbox the root or somewere specific?

No, you have to actually compile it into the source code. If you don't know a thing about source code and compiling you may just want to download a build that already has all the patches applied.

And where would I get a build with all the patches?

In the "Unsupported Builds" forum.  Keep in mind that, as the name states, these builds are unsupported by those NOT providing the build you download.

Did you happen to read the part of the link I provided for you that says "Get the required build here"?

No I completely spaced out.

Which is why I asked later HOW to put it in Rockbox, not WHERE it was.
Did you happen to read I asked where all the patches(or most of them) are in a build, and not the one you posted earlier?

If you try to act smart, make sure you read everything.

Plus I already got my answer, so your 'comment' didn't help anything.
