FM Radio on Sansa s200 series (s280)

I am having serious problems with the FM presets.  Basically, when I go into the FM radio, I am told that there are no presets and asked if I want to scan for stations.  I say "sure" by pushing the central button ("Select").  Eventually all seems well, and a set of presets have been determined.  But then if I try to save them, I get this screen of text, and the presets are not saved.  If I do something else in the Sansa, then return to FM, I am again told that there are no presets.

The manual for this device doesn't have the word "radio" in it, which is why I am posting here.

BTW, I wasn't sure whether this was a general Rockbox issue, or some kind of Rockbox*Sansa interaction issue, or perhaps merely an skaufman*Rockbox*Sansa issue.  So, I posted here.

The manual for the Sansa e200 series was written before FM radio functionality was added, so that'll be fixed.

FM presets for various regions can be found here:

Find the one for your region and save it to the /.rockbox/fmpresets folder on your device.

But can you tell us what the screen of text you're getting says, and also the SVN build you're using?

Sorry about the double posting...

Let me be more precise all the way around.  

1. I boot into Rockbox and get to FM Radio, then select it.

2. Then I see "No settings found.  Autoscan?"  SELECT=Yes  Any Other=No

3. If I SELECT, it gives me the Scanning process box ...

4. Then it shows me that the mode is "Preset"

5. If I hit the "menu" button I am given the choice to "Save Preset List"

6. If I SELECT, I get what seems to be four columns of text.  Row 1:
ABCDEFG abcdefg !?" @#$%+'

7. At the bottom line of the screen, I see:

/.rockbox/fmpresets/preset01

8. If later I try to load the preset list, I get a box saying that there are no such lists.

The manual describes how to navigate and enter characters on the text editor. Preset lists end in the extension .fmr, so make sure to add that if it's missing, then save it.

You can also search Google for FM radio stations in your area, and create a preset list for your player. You can download a preset list from the wiki page I gave you before to see the file's layout. Any text editor you have on your PC will suffice, even Notepad on Windows.

Thanks guys for your help.  I now have saved my preset lists, and I'll tailor the lists soon as well.
