ipod nano build glitch.
« on: September 07, 2007, 11:50:31 PM »
Just letting you know that the newer (august and up) rockbox nano builds all have the video and music glitches on my 1GB, I just downloaded an older build and everything works fine.. someone really needs to fix whatever was broken the latest nano builds.

Feel free to fix it then.

We're all still unsure what the problem is.

Or did you mean "How can I help figure out what's wrong?" rather than "someone really needs to fix this" as if this were actually software you'd paid for, or had a development team getting paid to fix bugs?

I think you'll be able to live with a month old build. Be happy Rockbox is free.

I've had the same problem, but I'm baffled at what it is.

Yeah but it's getting more like 2 months old and I'm afraid I'll miss the updates, for example I don't have the categories in my plugins, they're all just in one pile, also the skins are messed up when I change the font.

None of the developers who own Nanos have this problem, so until someone who has this problem either fixes it themselves or lends a problematic Nano to a developer it is unlikely to be fixed.  It isn't that we don't care or don't want to, but if you cannot find out what the problem is it is next to impossible to fix.

I don't have any problems either. I'm running a build from about 10-14 days ago. The build I had before that was pre-august. then i updated and had all the problems described. then i reupdated with an even newer build and all the problems were gone. it works fine. i think it has something to do with the actual ipod, not rockbox...

well it appears to work fine but there are green squares when watching videos and the sound appears distorted.

also exiting any plugin makes it crash.

This is a bug when you are using voice and then start mpegplayer which is also already reported on flyspray...

Are you saying the manual that you've read is missing the section on voice ?

If you never used voice (it's on by default but only works when a voice file present) then I drew a wrong conclusion and it is not the same bug I was thinking of, even though it looks the same.
