1)  Please stop double and triple posting - use the modify button

2)  We need to know EXACTLY.  Steps like:

Quote from: DavidGWRawson on September 07, 2007, 04:07:44 AM
1. Followed Bootloader Patching Instructions for Linux (Used Ubuntu)
 2. Applied Bootloader Patch Using e200tool
 3. Failed
 4. Randomly messed with things
 5. Bricked it
 6. Fixed it a little
 7. Now looking for an e260r bootloader

are not specific.  Exactly what steps did you follow?  How did you apply the bootloader patch.  Clearly you didn't follow the steps exactly because it didn't work.  "Randomly messed with things" - what things?  How?

You were told to wait many times and you didn't, so if you want help now you have to help us.

What are the 'side effects' of being completely bricked? :'(
It won't work  ???.  Seriously follow the instructions Bagder gave you EXACTLY and you can resurrect it.

No. You have to do the instructions given to you.

This is why there were warnings, it is not an easy fix. Follow Bagder's instructions and you can fix it.

You should *already* have downloaded them, you know - when you read the installation instructions that you managed not to follow.

Guess yet another person has rushed and ignored all the warnings on the page.  Unbricking your Sansa is just as easy (or hard) as installing Rockbox.

Maybe there's a reason the instructions contain so many warnings and advise people not familiar with the restore procedures to wait?

And these Sansas are not bricked, they're just in need of being restored.

Shane, please don't give people advice, you have already demonstrated that you don't know what you are doing.

These Sansas are not bricked but need recovering.  Anyway, I don't have a lot of sympathy even if they were - if you want to ignore all the warnings that is your perogative.

It's getting to the point where we're going to have to put up a big red warning label that reads:

WARNING: FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS AS THEY ARE WRITTEN OR YOU CAN CAUSE HARM TO YOUR SANSA!!

Maybe then they'll get the message.

I honestly don't think so. I don't think these guys failed to see the warnings, they just ignored them or at least thought that they could proceed well anyway. So, making the warning signs bigger will have no effect.

I fixed it....thanks alot guys. Ill wait to put rockbox on mine until you made a safer way. I understand what e200tool does now. It tells the sansa in manufacturing mode what bootloader  to load and then we tricked it with a different bootloader. I think....Well anyway, thanks alot. I can now wait until rockbox is safe to install. I might just try it again, and if it gets messed up again, ill just use your method to fix it.

I think that we should all download Firefox v2.0 and use its spell-checker.
