Getting Rockbox to Run on Sansa e200r
DavidGWRawson:
Specifics:
1. Followed Bootloader Patching Instructions for Linux (Used Ubuntu)
2. Applied Bootloader Patch Using e200tool
3. Failed
4. Randomly messed with things
5. Bricked it
6. Fixed it a little
7. Now looking for an e260r bootloader
*********Im just trying to restore it back to rhapsody firmware*************
ill put rockbox on only when a safer method is developed (if my sansa ever gets fixed)
DavidGWRawson:
All im getting with anything is a "cannot init main image"
can you give me a legitamate bootloader then? an "authentic" one?
if you can't, that's ok. Ill just return it to best buy and say it was defective. unless they know how to check for stuff like that....
DavidGWRawson:
I just want to know how I can just restore my player to working condition, keeping in mind that the bootloader is no good, as well as the firmware. is there a preloader mode i need to go into or something?
Bagder:
This is what you should do:
* enter manufacture mode
* recover the vanilla e200 bootloader
* when that starts, you press REC so that the bootloader goes into recovery mode
* in recovery mode, you put the SanDisk bootloader of choice on your player, we recommend the binary-patched one. Do note that you need to rename it as the instructions tell you.
* put your mi4 of choice on the disk as well
* disconnect
* smile
* donate to the rockbox fund
DavidGWRawson:
What are the 'side effects' of being completely bricked? :'(
