You need to convert the Ipod to a "Winpod". This means the data partition needs to be FAT32. As you installed the bootloader successfully I guess you converted the partition table -- did you also convert the data partition?

Please use complete words rather than slang like "thx".  This will help other users who use screen readers or translation software to use these forums more effectively.

As for converting the data partition to FAT32, the manual has a link in the Prerequisites section to this wiki page: IpodConversionToFAT32

You CAN put it in disc mode. That's an emergency thing that always works:

Press and hold Menu + Select until the Ipod reboots. Upon reboot press Play + Select. The Ipod will now enter emergency disc mode. If it doesn't show up as drive the partition table is most likely hosed, but it WILL show up as external hard disk. You might need to use other tools to restore the partition table -- see the wiki link Chronon gave you earlier.

To leave emergency disc mode you need to manually reset the Ipod again.

I guess it is too late for psyche08, but for anyone else who finds this thread...
This situation was 100% correctable in ten minutes or less of time.  Ipods have an emergency disk mode which is built-in, it can always be accessed, and would allow mounting of the iPod (even in its current condition) for the needed conversion to FAT32 (winpod).

The answer to how is given to you by the bootloader itself.  (Not to mention bluebrother's earlier reply.)
Menu+Select reboots
then as soon as you see the iPod reboot, press Select+Play buttons to launch disk mode.
More info and more detailed instructions can be found on Apple's website.

(Note:  Not to be a jerk, but this is the first listing when you google "Apple Ipod Disk Mode")
