I got that as well when I installed Rockbox for the first time.  It stopped when I mounted the device.

The bit about the scrolling LUN0 lock, unlock might be nice to add to the current instructions.

That gave me confidence to try from scratch again.

Now I get :

Rockbox boot loader
Version: 20r12485-070225
Sandisk Sansa E200
Partition 0: 0x06 1896 MB
Loading Rockbox ...
Error!
Can't load rockbox.e200:
File not found

Then it shuts down.

I'm going to review the troubleshooting links given by other responders and see if I can make more progress.

Thanks,

Clutch

Did you install a current build to the root of the device, as the instructions say?

That I know I did.  Just for reference I put  the build at root of the partition that holds music and such in a .rockbox directory  I hope root was supposed to start with a directory .rockbox.

After I got this to run the rockbox loader, I tried to follow instructions to take this back to original firmware.  Now I get that Load image failed message and redoing the installation instructions doesn't seem to get me out of this.

Well, I have to go to bed.  Work midnights.  I'll flog on it tomorrow.

That's an old bootloader...
