ok, I like how the Dev's modified the instalation page, so that it is now CLEARLY stated that you need to patch the bootloader first. That will be helpful to non linus users.

My sansa BURNED out running rockbox. I was using it and it started to smell weird. The battery got really hot. I turned it off and it didn't come back on. Can I return it to Best Buy and say it was just defective?

You mean Linux right? I'm not entirely sure how one would use "Linus".

Also do you have to go through this every time you need to update rockbox?

1.  The installation was tested with VMWare, which allows you to run Linux in Windows, though it was found it didn't work.

2.  After Rockbox is up and running, you only need to unzip the new build onto your Sansa.
