custom quick menu?

(1/2) > >>

Hi - sorry if this has been asked before, but a search didn't turn anything up.  just wondering how easy it would be to customize one of the quick menus.

I generally find myself not using the f3 features.  They have always been "set and forget" in my case. But I'm always messing with my backlight setting (to turn off when playing games on the subway) or equalizer settings (more bass sounds good w/headphones, bad with computer speakers), etc.  I'm wondering if it would be easy to swap these things into the f3 menu.

an old post alluded to having to modify the source code and rebuild.  is there any documentation on doing something like that?

and what's the basic syntax for a toggle?  Like if I wanted 3 backlight settings - off, 2s and 5s?  anyone have a snippet they could copy/paste?

thanks in advance.

You'd have to modify the source to do this.

There's heaps of documentation in the wiki on how to set up a dev environment and compile your own build.

Or just write few different config files and load the one you want...

Loading config file is not as quick as quick menu unless I totally missed a super easy way to to it ;-) Talking about config files, it will be terribly nice to change config files IN the quick screen itself. I haven't look at the quick menu code, but maybe I can do something about it when I have time.

Put the cfg file in the root folder of the player. Go to the main menu, use "Files" and -- unless you browsed other folders -- you'll be in the root folder. Click the cfg you want to use.
