I've merged two similar topics.

It's been found out in IRC that this is a bug in some code that got committed yesterday - generally related to ID3 handling. Hopefully this will get fixed soon; until then you should be able to use a daily build from September 3rd.
I had a similar error occur; we noticed it on Wednesday August 29. My wife read it to me, abu didn't bother giving me all the numbers...It happened during just normal playback; I was using a build from Sunday August 26.  Since then, I've had all kinds of quirks with the 30GB Video IPod...Such as, the menus speak for a couple seconds, then quit.  But if I magically find the "File" menu, it'll read the MP3 clips for my files and folders.  Saturday morning was the last time I tried anything with it, as far as a current build goes...Everything worked fine before last Sunday, so I may revert to an earlier-August build and see if things come back to normal.

The Sept 3rd build still doesn't do the trick.  On my 60 GB video iPod, trying to make any song selection via the Database yields "Data abort at 00030B68".  I also tried builds dated Sept 15 and Aug 17 and the problem exists on those too.  Makes me wonder if this capability ever worked.

Yes, it has.

I don't have my iPod with me today, otherwise I would test it to see if I can recreate your issue.

Hi! I'm absolutely new to rockbox, and testing it on my ipod nano 1st gen. it really looks nice to me but there also often occures a data abort error i use r15033-071008.
so i assume that this bug mentioned above is still not solved. after reading this thread i tried to download the mentioned September 3rd build, but could not find it (oldest is Sept. 10th), can anybody give me a downloadlink or upload this build somewhere?
meanwhile i will try to update to a today build...

What do you do that leads to this data abort?  The errors in this topic have been initiated by building the database.

If you want a build that's older than those on the daily builds page then you will have to check out the source from SVN and compile yourself a build.  However, I am not too certain at this point that you are seeing the same problem as the previous posters in this thread.  Some other nano users have experienced data aborts with recent builds.  You might want to check in this topic:

oh, thaught this was also about errors while playback... but also if i try to generate  the database it shows building database... 0 found and does nothing more, but i can abort this by pressing rwd button.
(EDIT)
ok man, now after reading the whole thread i am out of my problems, thought my glitches was from high bitrates of my mp3´s but everything seems to work fine for me.

Regarding my Sept 17 post doubting the database capability ever worked:  today I removed the .rockbox/ directory and reinstalled everything--boot loader, rock box, themes, redid the database, the whole nine yards.  Now the database works!  cool.
